Google's massive Gmail Outage

24th Jan Google outage that downed Gmail, Google+, Calendar and Documents for users around the world was caused by a software bug, according to a statement released by Google Friday evening. The culprit, said Google, was an internal software bug that ultimately caused users' data requests to be ignored, which then caused errors within Gmail and other Google services.

Is Facebook failing marketers or are marketers failing Facebook?Facebook has long been a divisive advertising medium and the blue touchpaper was lit once again last week after Forrester released a report which didn’t mince its words in claiming Facebook was “failing marketers” by “abandoning social marketing”.  
Once opinions were thrashed out online over the methodology and data sample used in the study (395 executives), marketers were left debating whether Facebook is failing marketers or whether it is actually the marketing community failing Facebook.

At a special event in the garage where Google was born, the company announced a new “Hummingbird” search algorithm is live and especially designed to handle complex queries.
