  • Google Opens AMP Story Ads To All Mobile Websites. The announcement read

Like AMP story content, story ads use the entire screen to convey a brand or message using a combination of video, image, or animations. A user continues the tap gesture to skip over the ad if uninterested but also has a consistent way to explore the ad using the call to action button. In addition, every ad has a ‘consistent’ ad attribution label, so users are easily able to distinguish between an ad vs organic content inside a story.

Ad placement & insertion are orchestrated by the runtime and therefore story ads are shown to the user only once they have fully loaded. As a result, story ads by definition are 100% viewable.

Story ads leverage the open source AMPHTML ad framework, which ensures that the ads are always performant and secure. This is achieved by replacing custom JavaScript with powerful AMP components that provide ad functionality. You can learn more about AMPHTML ads here or check out the resources below to create AMPHTML ads specific for AMP Stories.

Continuing in the AMP project’s footprints, we wanted to create an ad ecosystem where any ad provider could participate in delivering monetization solutions for story creators. AMP now has close to 100+ ad network integrations, and we hope to achieve a similar level of diversity for publishers.

  • Instagram Rolls Out 3 Fresh Features To Promote Holiday Shopping. The announcement read

Save to your new Shopping collection:

Now when you come across a must-have item, save it to your Shopping collection to revisit it later. When you tap a product tag in Stories or Feed, tap the Save icon in the bottom right corner to save it to your Shopping collection. Just like existing collections, you can access your Shopping collection from your profile. It’s an easy way to keep your wish list up-to-date and store creative gift ideas for the holidays.

Shop on business profiles:

We’re also testing a redesign of the Shop tab on business profiles so you can quickly view all the products featured in their shopping posts. When you visit a business profile, tap on the ‘Shop’ button to see their products, such as the item name, price, and the post featuring the item. It’s a great way to browse all the products from a brand you love on Instagram, in one place.

Shopping in Feed videos:

You can now shop in videos from your favorite brands. When you see a video in Feed from a brand you follow, tap the shopping icon in the bottom left corner to reveal the featured products and learn more about them.
