Do's & Dont's of PPC Optimization
Some rules that we follow
1. Never run in CPM (most of the time, I never got good result in it)
2. Display campaign optimizer is not preferred since it does not work accurately
3. Never use “bid only” , always go for “ target and bid”
4. Never start a campaign on Friday
5. Never start a campaign with too high budget, start with low budget and if it works good then increase gradually
6. Never ever start a campaign without knowing the business, knowing the business is the most important part. Even if it takes the whole month, it is worthy
7. Don’t change bid every other hour, change it but give it some time to perform and then take a decision
8. Don’t select ads based on their CTR only, sometime you might want to get relevant clicks and hence the CTR might below if you are targeting broad but using a very clear ad.
9. Never go for same keywords in different campaigns or ad groups, they might compete with each other
10. Never rely on adwords completely; the system is not 100% accurate till date, so better if you got for manual work.
11. Use adwords editor for repetitive and faster work
The most important part is to know the business and have a clear vision how your activities in Adwords is going to add value for the business’s end goal, if they are align, they are good, if not, something has to be changed.
